Reality Bites: Mental Illness- Share

Event Type: Adult
Age Group(s): Everyone
Date: 8/1/2018
Start Time: 6:00 PM
End Time: 8:00 PM
This is a workshop-style class, where we watch short videos and films, participate in collective conversations, and take part in group exercises. Be prepared to share in a civil and safe environment. In the first session we learn, then we discuss in the second and finally we share.
Over the next three sessions we will aim to bust myths surrounding mental illness, destroy stigmas and provide strategies for restorative healing.
The final session will be a culmination of the two previous sessions and we will move forward with how we can be powerful advocates for these groups. There will be a small panel from organizations who work directly with people with mental illness and they will share their findings. Finally there will be an opportunity to make a poster and share individual stories.
